75 minutes southwest of Chicago in the heart of Starved Rock Country. Air, rail and interstates 80 & 39 are convenient with popular tourist attractions; Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks, I&M Canal Corridor, the Illinois and Fox Rivers, and so much more. Starved Rock State Park attracted 2.3 million visitors in 2014.
The Illinois Horse Park will attract equestrian competitions, clinics, performances, living history displays, and special events. The Park property includes a Carriage Museum, a riding hall, barns for horse stabling, display barns, and vender booths. The shaded parking lot for 500+ vehicles is conveniently located by the main entrance.
The Park has been eleganly landscaped with over 1,000 large trees planted and complimented with hundreds of perennials, shrubs, bushes, and an incredible array of flowers. Acres of fields and pastures completes the visitor’s experience.
The park is designed to include a variety of other attractions that will enhance the visitors' experience. Such as:
